Strategic Plan for Environment in Huambo Province

The Strategic Environmental Plan (SAP) for the Province of Huambo in Angola, aims to be a tool for planning and development of reference in the environmental sector for the Province, allowing guide and prioritize strategic actions to ensure sustainable development in the present and in the future. This is only possible by ensuring a balance between the components, economic, social and environmental, so that, in the preparation of the PEA Huambo sought to define strategies that would allow the province to achieve a satisfactory level of social and economic development while ensuring proper use of natural resources and preserving the species and natural habitats.

 

• The PEA was conducted between August 2012 and April 2013, and was subsequently subjected to a period of getting suggestions from the Provincial Government of Huambo (GPH), the Province of Municipal Administrations and other entities for the purpose convened by the GPH. The preparation of the Plan was based on the information available and collected in the study area, and was based on the work of a large multidisciplinary team that created the PEA as a tool for sustainable development through the intrusion of Social, Environmental and Economic aspects that define that development.
