Faro Airport, Algarve tourism basilar infrastructure, provides a wide range of projects in broadening its infrastructure constituting, limiting elements for proper "processing" of aircraft and passengers, the most important tourist region in the country. In addition to the expansion works were also created better security conditions of the track 10, the example of which already exist in operation for runway 28.

 

• The EIA followed the development phase of the Project , and served to identify and assess the positive and negative effects resulting from the implementation and operation in compliance with the applicable environmental legislation . Understanding these effects helped implement the project so that it meets the important local environmental values . Allowed further understand and highlight positive environmental aspects that it would provide.


• Accordingly the EIA addressed the following environmental factors : climate, geology and geomorphology , soils and usability of soil, surface water , ground water resources , flora and fauna , current land use , land use , noise environment , quality air, socioeconomics , landscape and heritage.


• Faro Airport is located near a sensitive area , the Ria Formosa, and in order to understand the dynamics , mode of operation and quality of water and sediments of the confined system , part of the Ria Formosa, for intervention in under the Project; were also conducted further analysis of the dynamics flow.
