Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Combined Cycle Sines Power Plant

The EIA for Combined Cycle Center (CCC) Sines, located in an industrial batch of Industrial and Logistics Zone Sines (ZILS), was held following a process of finding the best fit location, having conducted an environmental assessment of other locations.
• The EIA studied as the most relevant aspects, the dispersion of plumes of air pollutants and plumes of the cooling towers, under Air Quality, as well as the dispersion of the thermal plume from a small wastewater scrap in the sea, discharged by outfall.
• The EIA also gave emphasis to aspects such as the Flora, Vegetation and Habitats, Fauna and their Habitats by proximity to the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vincentina (PNSACV). The Sound Environment, Heritage and Socioeconomics also deserved special attention.
