Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Block Plan of Quinta da Ferraria

A major goal of this SEA was to provide data and information to those responsible for preparing the plan, in order to facilitate the entire development process, providing support for its environmental framework, along with a good understanding of the entities involved in the review and approval of the Block Plan.
• Through this SEA, it is considered that the above-stated objectives were met, which resulted in a sustained Block Plan, which creates a diverse range of accommodation units, recreation and leisure facilities and other services appropriately framed the goals of regional development west and Tagus Valley and PENT, respecting the core values of the landscape and in harmony with the biophysical conditions and natural values of the area of intervention.
• In order to assess the strengths and weaknesses of this Block Plan, the following critical factors were evaluated: Planning and Territorial Dynamics, Resource Conservation, Landscape and Socio-Economic Development.
• This Block Plan was approved by the Coordinating Committee of Lisbon and Tagus Valley in 2011.
